Ted Baker Womenswear Autumn/Winter 2018

Eagerly-awaited, and always filled with touches that surprise and delight, Ted’s new womenswear collection for the autumn/winter season continues the great man’s green-fingered gallivanting around the globe’s most glorious gardens, complemented by surprising textiles, unexpected yarns, and Ted’s signature eye for detail.

From the Amazonian jungle to Florentine villas, South Africa’s tropical botanicals to Lakeland country gardens, Ted has never explored further in pursuit of the perfect floral. Inspiration was drawn not only from the breadth of blooms disovered on his journey, but also the inimitably romantic movement and atmosphere they create.

Ted proposes four foundation colour palettes for the season, which can be mixed, matched, and interchanged to your taste: Air Force blues, strawberry pinks, pesto-tinged greens, and base hues of navy/grey/black. Darker background shades are highlighted with bright florals for dramatic effect, while bolder pops of colour are delivered through satin-covered stilettoes and chain-handled cross-body bags.

Co-ordinating separates continue to be key, with sporty details or embroidery providing a link between relaxed, tailored pieces. Tonal pinks blend bespoke prints with soft pastels, while rich pleating and cut-out lace highlights consolidate Ted’s approach to detailing.

Ted’s professional approach to tailoring has been painstakingly developed for the season, with a new breed of power suits forming a pillar of the modern wardrobe. A strongly-accented shoulder is seen across dresses and separates, while a modish midi hemline appears across culottes, skirts and cuffed-hem trousers, accentuating Ted’s statement heels.
