Browns Department Stores celebrates 10th Birthday at Marshall’s Yard
Ten years ago, crowds gathered as the new independent boutique department store, Browns, opened its doors following its £600,000 shop fit investment.
Since then, the store has continued to secure its position as a strong retail anchor for Gainsborough by constantly updating and introducing new luxury, designer brands never represented before in the town.
Menswear brands such as Hugo Boss, Ralph Lauren, Gant, Barbour and Lacoste join top ladieswear labels including Hobbs, Whistles Phase Eight and Levi’. Added to the mix is a large range of designer handbags, shoes, fragrances, lingerie and cosmetics including Clarins, Estee Lauder, Clinique and Benefit.
The store has created and sustained 40 jobs in the town and has been headed up by the same store manager since it’s opening, Wendy Stephenson.
To celebrate their big birthday shoppers will get the chance to receive 10% off all full price items if a birthday card is found from several hidden locations throughout the store on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th August. As a thank you, customers will be randomly selected throughout the weekend to receive a surprise gift. ‘Fizz & Treats’ will also be served and available to all customers to celebrate a decade of Browns.
Wendy said: “We are hugely proud of how Browns has imbedded itself into the local community over the past ten years.
“We partake in several town centre initiatives such as Gainsborough in Bloom and support many local causes by donating around 60 hampers per year whilst also holding several fundraising events in store.
“We want to thank our loyal customers with a 10% off campaign to celebrate our 10th birthday and hope to see many of you join us over the weekend for some shopping, fun and fizz.”
The store has performed really well despite the lock downs occurring in 2020 and 2021 and an ongoing difficult climate in retail, proving there is a strong market here in Gainsborough and its surrounding area for what they sell.
The store puts its success down to the team’s commitment to delivering great customer service and high quality products.
